about kate
Katherine Gesing was born and raised in Round Rock, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University, where she also minored in Product Design and Fabrication. During her time there, she studied abroad in Barcelona, an experience that deepened her appreciation for materiality, urban life, and design rooted in cultural context.

She went on to receive a scholarship to pursue her Master of Architecture at SCI-Arc in Los Angeles, where she explored experimental design, digital fabrication, and emerging technologies. During her studies, she interned at a range of architecture practices in both Los Angeles and New York, including Atelier Manferdini, Mark Foster Gage Architects, and Florencia Pita & Co., where she contributed to concept design, modeling, and visual storytelling.

Now back in Central Texas, she is currently a designer at Wang Architects in Austin, where she brings a layered, research-driven perspective to each project.Outside of the office, she enjoys hiking, reading, and visiting her family’s ranch. Most importantly, she’s catching up on lost time with chips and queso.
